The happy mood of celebration and reunion went on into the early hours of the morning. No one wanted this to come to an end, but you know what they say about all good things ......
Captain Sydney walked to the stage and announced that shortly, their 'special guests' would have to leave, because it would soon be dawn, and they had to be back before sunrise.
A sombre calm fell like a mist over the hall.
Killian, with the members of the WELSH CHORALE, mounted the stage and Luke, the choirmaster, announced that together, they would perform the beautifulLaudate Dominum, by Mozart.
Sister Ella could not hide her tears of delight. It had always been her favourite!
The music began, and then that beautiful voice filled the room with the most wonderfully controlled rendition of this fine work that they had ever heard. It seemed like they were indeed listening to the angelic hosts, and Killian's voice rang out with such emotion that it touched the souls of all present.
When the Welsh Chorale joined in, there were gasps of admiration at the expertise of these singers. What balance! What dynamics of sound! - Oh, it was divine.
Then, in that last verse, Killian's pure tone re-entered - softly at first, then building to a crescendo as this magnificent work drew to a close.
There was a hushed silence, then roaring applause which echoed around the hall like rolling thunder.
Truly, this day, they had been visited by angels.
As the beautiful singing ended, and the 'angelic guests' prepared to make their departure back to the Rainbow Bridge, everyone rushed up to hug them one last time.
At least, now, they KNEW it was not a 'forever' goodbye, and that they all would meet again in time. There was no loss, no death, no more being or feeling alone. All were ONE!
Tipper and Henry, Sister Ella, Maddie, Keeleigh and Murphy M, Abby and Killian moved to the stairs, and waved cheerfully to all their friends and loved ones.
Little Barnaby and Lola's Mommy kissed them both and held them tightly. They were not sad now, because they KNEW she was alive and happy, and she would be watching over them and they'd see her again one day. Their Mommy gently placed them into the safe keeping of Keeva and Buddy.
Then, like the beat of a heart, they were gone from their sight.
To suit the occasion, the Band and the SOUNDS SENSATIONAL began to sing a lovely song called THE SOFT GOODBYE.
It was a happy conclusion to a Perfect Day.
Here are the lyrics to the song.
When the light begins to fade
And shadows fall across the sea,
One bright star in the evening sky.
Your love's light leads me on my way.
There's a dream that will not sleep,
A burning hope that will not die.
So I must go now with the wind,
And leave you waiting on the tide.
Time to fly, time to touch the sky
One voice alone, a haunting cry.
One song, one star burning bright,
May it carry me through darkest night.
Rain comes over the grey hills,
And on the air, a soft goodbye,
Hear the song that I sing to you
When the time has come to fly.
When I leave and take the wind
And find the land that faith will bring,
The brightest star in the evening sky
Is your love waiting far for me.
Is your love waiting far for me.

It was a beautiful new day as they passed the Statue of Liberty. Hearts swelled with pride. It was great to travel and see the world, but there was no place like HOME!
They all came on deck to see those familiar and heart-warming sights.
So our Cruise comes to an end, with all those dear little faces whom we know and love, looking excitedly and hopefully to the future.
As the creator of these adventures I wish them good health, happiness, and every blessing for the years to come.
Every one of them has a special place in my heart.
The WHEATEN PRINCESS will sail on forever in our hearts, just like all those dogs who have, over the years, taken part in the adventures, and warmed our hearts with love and joy, and peace.
